Since 1996, Providence Bridge Pedal has grown to be a signature event on Portland’s summer event calendar. It offers you the one opportunity each year to enjoy the Willamette River bridges – including the top decks of the Fremont and Marquam bridges – from the best possible vantage point: the seat of a bicycle.

For years, Providence Bridge Pedal has been providing families with a unique opportunity to view the city from atop the Portland bridges. The course is closed off from traffic, allowing bikers and hikers to rule the road.
In 2009, the League of American Bicyclists announced that Providence Bridge Pedal was key in its decision to recognize Portland as the first major city in America designated as a platinum-level Bicycle Friendly Community.
