Celebrating 20 Years of Providence Bridge Pedal and Our Newest Bridge

Every year since 1996, Providence Bridge Pedal participants have eagerly anticipated the one opportunity each year to bike across Portland’s Willamette River bridges. As part of our 20th year celebration, we are pleased to join with TriMet to offer you the first opportunity to cross Portland’s newest bridge: Tilikum Crossing.

Tilikum Bridge

Tilikum Crossing – Bridge of the People

Portland’s stunning new bridge will officially open on Sept. 12, 2015. Providence Bridge Pedal will be the inaugural public event on the bridge, giving you an advance opportunity to bike or walk across Tilikum Crossing before its official opening. All Bridge Pedal routes (except Kids Pedal) and Providence Bridge Stride walkers will cross the bridge. In fact, cyclists will cross it twice.

Registration Limits

To minimize congestion on Tilikum Crossing and to ensure all participants can finish their routes within the time limits required by event permits, Providence Bridge Pedal registrations will be limited. A set number of people will be allowed to participate in each ride: Fremont Express, the 11-bridge ride, the 9-bridge ride, the 7-bridge ride and Kids Pedal. There is no limit for Bridge Stride.

Start times will be assigned for the 7-, 9- and 11-bridge rides. You may select your preferred start time when you register. The 9-bridge cyclists will be the first to cross Tilikum Crossing, followed in order by those doing the Fremont Express, 11-bridge ride, 7-bridge ride and finally the Bridge Stride.

The Bite of Oregon

After crossing the Providence Bridge Pedal finish line, the fun continues. All participants receive free admission to The Bite of Oregon, the premier food and music event held in Waterfront Park.
